Fiorino Iris Ring

80,00

Inspired by the Fiorino (Fior di Giglio), the symbol of the city of Florence, this piece was engraved on wax by the artist. The Iris band ring celebrates its great fame, which was minted in 24-karat gold for the first time in 1252, and hence the medieval dollar was born, in a fortunate time in which gold was appreciated, thus becoming a method of payment and reserve for wealth. With the great commercial expansion of the city, many merchants and bankers maintained the Fiorino with all of Italy and also in Europe, reaching as far as Turkey, Tunisia, and Morocco from where the Florentines brought back gold in powder form, coming from the gold rivers of Senegal.
